Working as a graphic/web designer for the past 15 years, Taber has always been obsessed with how shapes, patterns and the visual representation of words communicate hierarchies of information. Initially, she began making images as a design element to incorporate into her work, but soon realized how photography helped her experience the world with a sense of presence that was hard to achieve in any other way. Photography not only encourages Taber to see the mundanely familiar in new ways, but it also sparks a curiosity that drives her to places she wouldn’t otherwise go and forces her out of her routine to do things she wouldn't otherwise do.
